Free movie brings in food, books

Jaycees, Plaza sponsor free movie: Books and canned goods donated

The Burlington Jaycees and Plaza Theater sponsored a free showing of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" Aug. 3. Admission was free with the donation of two non-perishable food goods or a gently used children's book. Hundreds of food items and books were collected. The food was distributed to the St. Vincent dePaul and Love, Inc. food pantries, and the books were given to the Transitional Living Center shelter library.
